Tidewater and Beach, North Carolina

After the summer in North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains, I headed east to enjoy the Salt Life.

Tidewater, Croatan National Forest
Saltwater marshlands, Croatan National Forest
A pond, inland from the sea.
Sand Dunes, Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
Hurricane Ted, hundreds of miles away, created a king tide.
Roadways, covered in sand due to high winds, were then flooded with seawater. Birds gathered.
Stormy weather.
Ocean got a little rough.
Not safe for swimming today.
Sheltered from the wind, spiders weave.
Ghost crab hangs out near home.
Sunrise.
