Tidewater and Beach, North Carolina

After the summer in North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains, I headed east to enjoy the Salt Life.

Tidewater, Croatan National Forest
Saltwater marshlands, Croatan National Forest
A pond, inland from the sea.
Sand Dunes, Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
Hurricane Ted, hundreds of miles away, created a king tide.
Roadways, covered in sand due to high winds, were then flooded with seawater. Birds gathered.
Stormy weather.
Ocean got a little rough.
Not safe for swimming today.
Sheltered from the wind, spiders weave.
Ghost crab hangs out near home.

  1. Thanks Nan. Great pics. One can never forget the dunes and ocean views of the outer banks!!

  2. Wonderful photos, especially the ones of the ruff surf.
